Session 5 · Phase 2, Core Skills
Writing with AI
AI writes fast and well. But it is your name at the bottom of the page.
Saturday, October 17, 2026 · French class, 10:00 Dallas time, 16:00 in Kinshasa · Zoom
Just arriving? No problem. You need your CV, or a few notes about your jobs, and an AI assistant, any of them. This page shows you the rest.
Could not make it live? This week there is no English class and no English video. Read the English summary below, do the homework, and join us next Saturday. October 31 is the last day to join and still earn the certificate.
Register for the seriesWhat you take away
By the end of this class, you know how to…
- 1
Turn a pile of notes into a one-page CV in the language of the job, without the AI inventing a diploma, a date or a number.
- 2
Have it explain what it wrote line by line, so you know what you are signing, and answer its questions.
- 3
Reread it yourself before you sign diplomas, dates, numbers, languages.
The live demos
Maman Grâce's CV
Maman Grâce is a fictional character, the same as last week: 52, in Dallas for four years, a nursing aide, often on nights. She saw a job posting: night home health aide, in a Dallas agency. She needs a CV in English. She has notes, in a jumble, in French, with no address and no phone number.
- 1
Messy notes, a one-page CV
In ChatGPT, in a temporary chat with memory off, Angel pasted Grâce's notes, then the 5.1 request: a one-page CV in English for this job, her words kept, no diploma, date or number invented, and [to complete] for phone and email. The one-page CV came back.
- 2
Explain it line by line
Then one sentence, typed in French in the same chat: "Explain to me in French, line by line, what you wrote, so I know what I am signing." In its answer, ChatGPT asked its own questions before going further: have you ever spoken with patients' families? are you available to work nights? do you have a CNA certificate? Grâce answered, Angel pasted the rest of her notes, and ChatGPT corrected the CV under the heading "What I changed".
- 3
What you check
A well-written CV reads as true. So you reread it yourself, four things: diplomas and titles, dates, numbers, languages and duties. The question put to the class: what is in the CV that is not in her notes?
"Not yet certified"
In the notes, written in French, one tricky line: "I am preparing for the Texas CNA certificate. I have not taken the exam yet." A CV written the most likely way could have said "certified". The corrected CV says "Not yet certified", and ChatGPT explained it: "CNA: Not yet certified means you have not obtained the certification yet. The agency will understand that you are preparing for the exam."
Two lines to reread all the same. "Trained two new coworkers in 2025" comes from "last year, I showed the work to two new colleagues": ChatGPT said itself that it worked out the year, and "showed" became "trained". And Lingala marked "Fluent" goes a little further than the notes, which only say "French, Lingala". That is why you reread.
Your turn
The same path, with your CV or your notes: 5.1 for the CV, then 5.3 in the same chat for the list of what it added, and the fix. Then the four rereads, yourself.
The four prompts, with copy buttonsAfter class: a song for Dr. Muswamba's 55th birthday
Dr. Muswamba, the board chair, opened the class on his 55th birthday. After class, the room wrote him a song, live: birthday words in the Zoom chat, his taste in music, the lyrics written with Claude, a first track with Gemini, then a second version with Suno. It took the hour planned for the English class.
The lesson, said during the settings: when the result disappoints, ask whether it is the AI, or whether your prompt was not precise enough.
Before you practise
Three things to have at hand
If you are watching the video instead of the live class, get these ready first.
Your CV, or your notes
A CV, even an old one, or a few lines: your jobs with the years, what you did there, your diplomas and training, your languages. A jumble is fine.
Three lines out
Remove your address, phone number and email before pasting: the AI does not need them, it will write [to complete]. Never a social security number.
A temporary chat, memory off
In any assistant: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or Grok. Otherwise it may mix what it already knows about you into your CV.

This week's homework · October 18 to 24
Update your CV, then ask it what it dressed up
The workshop did not happen in class, so it becomes your homework. Your CV, or your notes, with 5.1. Then, in the same chat, right after the CV:
Compare this CV with my notes. List everything you added, changed or dressed up that I did not tell you: diplomas, dates, numbers, language level, duties.
- 1
Have your CV written with 5.1, after removing your address, phone number and email.
- 2
Ask the question above, then ask for the fix, the second part of 5.3. And reread it yourself: diplomas, dates, numbers, languages.
- 3
On Saturday, tell us one thing you removed. And think of an event that would need a flyer: that is Session 6.
Health, money, law, papers
AI helps you understand. It does not replace the doctor, the lawyer or the certified translator. A work permit, a visa, a diploma to have recognised: to decide, a qualified person confirms.
Nothing from your CV in the group: the kind of job, and one thing you removed.
After class
The videos
This Saturday, one class only, in French. Both videos below are in French.
No English class this week
On October 17, only the French class was held. It ran until 11:02 Dallas time, and the birthday song for Dr. Muswamba then took the hour planned for English. So there is no English video this week. The two videos below are in French.
What the class covered, in English
A one-page CV from messy notes. In ChatGPT, in a temporary chat with memory off, the notes of Maman Grâce, a fictional character, became a one-page English CV for a night home health aide job, with no diploma, date or number invented, and [to complete] for phone and email.
"Explain it line by line." One sentence asked ChatGPT to explain everything it wrote, so Grâce knows what she signs. It asked its own questions back, then corrected the CV: the Texas CNA certificate she is still preparing became "Not yet certified".
What you check before you sign: diplomas and titles, dates, numbers, languages and duties. AI helps you understand; it does not replace the doctor, the lawyer or the certified translator.
After class, a song for the 55th birthday of Dr. Muswamba, the board chair, written live with the room: lyrics with Claude, a first track with Gemini, a second version with Suno.
The homework, the prompts and the four rereads are all in English on this page and on the pages below. The English class is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, at 11:00 Dallas time.
The French class, 10:00 (in French)
Highlights, in French
13 minStéphanie's question, Maman Wivine's family study group, Marcus's question about tokens, Maman Grâce's CV, "explain it line by line", what to check, and the song for Dr. Muswamba.
The full class, in French
107 minThe whole class, questions included: the opening by Dr. Muswamba, Stéphanie, Maman Wivine, Marcus, the two demos, then the hour of the birthday song. Dead air was cut.
Both videos are public on YouTube. Personal screens are blurred, a few passages were cut, and clarifications are shown on screen: the certificate takes 10 sessions out of 16, and you must join by October 31 to get there. Maman Grâce is a fictional character.
What was taught
Session 5 in five ideas
- 1
Your notes are enough
Even in a jumble. AI does the shape; the facts stay yours, and your words too. Tell it to keep them, and to invent no diploma, no date, no number.
- 2
The outline first
For a long document, ask for the outline first, one line per section. You fix the outline, not the text: it is ten times faster.
- 3
Have it explain what it wrote
Line by line, in your language, so you know what you are signing. If it asks you questions, answer them: the CV gets more accurate.
- 4
The four rereads
Diplomas and titles, dates, numbers, languages and duties. What AI says about its own work is not proof: reread it yourself.
- 5
It is your name at the bottom of the page
A CV, a report, a letter carry your name. Whatever AI adds, you are the one who signs it. And for health, money, law and papers, a qualified person confirms.
"CNA: Not yet certified means you have not obtained the certification yet. The agency will understand that you are preparing for the exam."
The sentence to keep
AI writes fast and well; but it is your name at the bottom of the page, so whatever it adds, you read line by line.
And the four rereads, before you sign, send or print: diplomas and titles, dates, numbers, languages and duties.
